Luxembourg Railway Station is the main station serving the City of Luxembourg. It also functions as the country’s international railway station, with services into each of the surrounding countries: Belgium (Midi/Zuid Station), France (Gare du Nord), and Germany. Next to the station is the central bus stop.
The main station is located 1.2 miles south of the city centre (Ville Haute), to the south of the River Pétrusse. Luxembourg-City has four train stations: Luxembourg (the main station), Cents-Hamm (east), Dommeldange (north-east) and Hollerich (south-west).
The national railway company of Luxembourg is called CFL (Luxembourg Railways – Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois).
If you stay around the main train station (Gare de Luxembourg or Bahnhof Luxembourg) you can reach the old town, the Kasemattes, the Palais Royal and the Cathedral in only a few walking minutes.
