Your bib number indicates which corral you’ll start from and each will be labeled with large signs on race day. The start line is located at 601 Biscayne Blvd.
The course, being a marathon, runs for 26.2 miles and begins by heading north toward the American Airlines Arena. If you need to check a bag prior to the race, you can find facilities located three blocks south of the starting line, just past the Bayside Marketplace.
Use the walkway to get to your corral at least 15 minutes before the race start time. You’ll also find a medical team and restrooms near the starting line.
Where Does the Miami Marathon Finish?
The finish line of the Miami Marathon isn’t too far from the starting line. You will find it at 301 Biscayne Blvd, which is near Bayfront Park, just four blocks south of the starting line.
If you cannot complete the marathon, there will be assistance available to get you back to the end point. At the finish line, there is an area where runners can reunite with their family and friends, as well as medical support if it’s needed for any reason.
The finish line also features bathrooms and facilities for those who need special accommodations.
Miami is home to a wide range of hotels in all price points so you’re sure to find one that works best for you. A hotel near the finish line makes it easy to get back to your room once you’re done running so that you can refuel, rehydrate and rest so that you can enjoy the rest of what Miami has to offer. A hotel close to public transportation makes it simple to get to the starting line and back to your hotel once the race is over.

Fortunately, there is a shuttle that you can ride from the Miami Beach convention center that will get there without the added hassle of trying to navigate traffic or use public transportation.

Most of Miami’s beach hotels offer shuttle service to and from the race so you can get there with time to spare. This is one of the best places to stay if you’re a marathon runner. The hotel is located near the Port of Miami, near a Metromover station for your convenience. You’ll be close to other Miami area attractions so you have plenty to do when the race is over. Kids stay free and there are several dining options available as well. Across the street is the Bayside Marketplace and you’ll love the breathtaking views out every window.
When it comes to high rise hotels, this is one of the best. The InterContinental Miami is a city icon and you can’t miss it along the skyline. True luxury abounds here, but it’s also close to the Miami Marathon starting point so you can get there easily. Modeled on the famous “The Spindle,” the place is also close to some of the best beaches . In fact, you can take advantage of a variety of beach packages to make your stay that much more memorable.
Behind the Hyatt name is this terrific Miami hotel is found on the Miami River and its two white columns can’t be missed. You’ll be just mere steps from the Miami Riverwalk and Little Havana. With over 600 rooms, there are plenty to choose from when you arrive in town for the race. Located quite close to the marathon starting line, this hotel is the center of all of the action, giving you somewhere to rest that’s close to all the places you want to see and everything you want to do.
This condo hotel is a first class wonder right in the heart of downtown Miami. When you aren’t running the marathon, you’ll be stone’s throw from premier shopping and dining, as well as cultural experiences that epitomize the Miami experience. Just a few minutes from the American Airlines Arena, you’ll be close to the starting line on race day and can head back to your room for some rest and relaxation afterwards.
As you can imagine, the marathon course is lined by the best Miami has to offer, from palm trees to tropical views from start to finish. You might even recognize some scenes from your favorite television shows or movies.
The course itself is a flat, single loop that is USATF-certified and is also a Boston qualifier. There are a couple of bridges, as well as time clocks along the way. There’s also entertainment, both for the runners and the spectators.
You’ll see signs to help you along the way and there are unofficial time clocks at the finish line so you can get an idea of your time.
When you aren’t hitting the pavement for your run, you can enjoy the beautiful beaches, delicious dining options and fun nightlife experiences waiting for you in Miami Florida.
When you’re done running, chances are that you’ll be ready to lay down and rest and that means finding a hotel with a comfortable bed and all of the amenities that you need.
Knowing where to be when the starting gun goes off is the most important piece of information to have when you’re running a marathon. If you have shuttle tickets, be sure to pick them up from the shuttle information booth, which is located at the expo.
Shuttles leave the Miami Beach Convention Center at 4:00am and you’ll need to be in line about 10 to 15 minutes prior for efficient boarding.
If you plan to get yourself to the starting line, you’ll take I-95, following the signs into downtown and toward the American Airlines Arena. To ensure that you find an open parking space, arrive no later than 5:00 am.
You might also consider taking public transportation, such as the Metrorail or Metromover so you don’t have to worry about finding a parking place. The fees are affordable and you’ll be delivered as close to the starting line as possible.
