The Stazione Cadorna is the Terminus for the Ferrovie Nord Milano, a semi-private rail company. The Railway Station is located in the City Centre of Milan Italy. It is also the interchange of 2 metro lines, Cadorna is three stops from the Duomo on the red line.
The Train Station is located in Piazzale Cadorna in the municipal area of Milano in Italy and has been open since 1964. It connects Milan to the towns nearby such as Varese, Como, Novara, and with Malpensa Airport. From Cadorna train railway station (near Duomo Square) you can take trains to Milan Malpensa Airport (stay nearby), the Malpensa Express departs every 30 minutes.
Most international and domestic trains arrive/leave from Milano Stazione Centrale (Milan Central Station). This station is located in the north east area of Milan Italy and is very well connected to the rest of Milan through the metropolitana Linea Verde (green) and Linea Gialla (yellow). You can go between Central Station and Cadorna Train Station by metro (green line) or on foot.
When it comes to hotels and lodging, don’t settle blindly for anything. Instead, consider the following:
1. Affordability – You should consider checking whether the hotel fees are all-inclusive or not. Find a hotel that is considerably cheap or within your budget where meals, particularly breakfast, will not make the price rocket high.
2. Convenience – Whether visiting for business or pleasure, the hotel you choose should be strategically placed for you to move around freely without much hustle.
3. Parking – If you are going to hire a car, or arrive by car, find out if the hotel offers parking services and how safe the parking zone is.
Italy is a friendly country, and you may consider adding a few more days to your itinerary as you will find lots of fun experience and memories to take home.
Milan Train Station
Italy has a unique cultural setup from the rest of the world. So if you are planning on a visit to Italy, consider the following tips.
1. When you book an overnight train, ensure you specify ‘Mr.’ or ‘Ms.’ on your ticket – The compartments are separated for male and female, unless you have booked a private compartment.
2. Pay attention to ‘il coperto’ (cover charge) when browsing menus – The charges vary with restaurants, and this will prepare you for any surprises you may encounter when receiving your bill.
3. Prepare for dinner between 7.30pm-9pm. Most Italian restaurants, as a tradition, serve dinner at this time.
4. Cover exposed skin – Short skirts, and halter tops are not considered fashionable in Italy, therefore, exposing your body may attract unwarranted attention.
5. Afternoon closings – You will find several shops closed between 1pm-4pm as this means lunch with family.
6. Go to an actual taxi stand or call a cab – You cannot hail a taxi on a street.
7. Request your bill (il conto) when ready to leave – As an Italian tradition, the attendant will not want to interrupt your ‘nice meal’ or conversation.
When staying in the city for a couple of nights you can also opt to stay nearby the famous San Siro football stadium when attending a match, or look for a hotel room close to the Fiera Milano or MiCo congress centre when you are on a business trip.
Wherever you want to stay, be sure you will find always the best available rates for hotels, b&b’s, cheap hostels and serviced apartments.
