The participants start in the Avenue des Champs-Elysees, which is described as one of the most beautiful avenues in the world.

The origin of the name comes from the French First World War Hero, Marechal Ferdinand Foch. Being a more clam and prestigious environment, this area may be more suitable or even best place for you if you prefer quiet accommodation near the finish line, where you can relax and experience the marathon at your own pace.
Here you can visit the memorial to Jean-Charles Alphand, the French Engineer of the Corps of Bridges and Roads. Being another area of France offering culture, you can explore the options of a variety of wonderful and also well priced hotels, all very close to the marathon finish line.
