The Rock’ n’ Roll Arizona Marathon is one of the biggest marathon competitions in the United States. The race is held annually in the state of Arizona, with thousands of participants across the country.
The Rock’ n’ Roll Arizona Marathon is always set before the famous Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The best option is to stay either near the start line & finish of the (half) marathon.
For the marathon you can stay close to the start, which is in downtown Phoenix or stay near the finish line in Tempe close to the Arizona State University campus. When participating in the half marathon, 10K or 5K the best place to stay is in Tempe.

Where to Stay for Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona?
The event is organized between Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale metropolitan cities to access the whole Marathon.
The entire event includes different races, such as the full Marathon, half marathon, 5K, 10K, and the Kids Rock. The races have participants from different ages as well as different distances to be covered.
The 10K run is a 10-kilometer run, while the 5K is a 5-kilometer run. The Marathon is a 42-kilometer distance run, but it can change from time to time. The kids’ rock is mainly a run for kids of a certain age.
Whether you are participating in the races or not, there are best locations where you can enjoy the races. This is also dependent on your race. You must know how to get to your races and all the available options.
If you want to have the best view of the races, you have several options depending on the type of race you are attending. Both the Marathon and half-marathon have ideal places to be at to get the best experience. You can choose to be close to the finish line when you attend the half marathon.
Closer to the start line is also good enough since you will get the races’ starting action. It is best to be for the marathon race from the downtown Phoenix location as this is the starting point. The finish line is located near the Arizona State University in Tempe if you prefer staying at the finishing point.
For the 5K run, all runners can get a drop off at the ASU football stadium. This location is also the main parking for the event if you are driving to the event. If you are driving, you will have to leave the same way you came in since the Rio Salado westbound towards Tempe’s downtown will be blocked for the race.
For the 10K and a half marathon, the Valley Metro Rail will be available on Sunday. They will be running every 20 minutes to connect all half marathoners and marathoners to all the racing locations. These are Tempe and also a downtown phoenix.
The runner’s drop can be accessed from 202, 1-10, highway 60, or directly from Tempe. For the Marathon, there is an option to use the trains before the races start. This will be between 5:00 and 7:30 a.m. It would be best if you had extra time to get to the race start locations.
Where is the Start and Finish?
You must know where all the races will start and finish as you prepare to be part of this exciting event. The Marathon and also the Half Marathon have different locations in which they start and end. The locations are all in Tempe, Arizona, making it convenient to make it home after all races.
Marathon: The start line for the Marathon will be at the Arizona Center. This is at Van Buren St. as well as 2nd St. in Phoenix. The finish line will be located at Rio Salado Parkway, strictly at Ash in Tempe. You can get the course for the map when you participate.
Half Marathon: The half marathon starting location is in Tempe at the University Drive along College Avenue. The finish line is where the Marathon starts, which is in Rio Salado Parkway, Ash. The half marathon also has a course map available for all participants.
